Am I Eligible To Join?
Annexation eligibility is determined by the location of your property in connection with the existing City limits. The City of Charleston eligibility requirements are governed by SC State Law Title 5, "Municipal Corporations."

To annex into the City of Charleston, your property must be:
1) contiguous or "touching" the city limits, and
2) approved by the City Council

Can I annex?

Ask our Annexation Coordinator:
Send your address or tax map number to the Annexation Coordinator to request an eligibility review.  We will review your location and contiguity on a map to determine if your property is eligible.
