Payment of Fines & Bonds

Payment of court fines is due on the day of court. Failure to pay fines may result in suspension of driving privileges and/or a bench warrant for arrest.

If your license was suspended, please refer to "License Suspensions." You may want to check with the Department of Motor Vehicles for the current status of your driving privileges.

You may pay in person at the Municipal Court on Lockwood Blvd. Personal Checks are not accepted for payment. Cash, certified checks, money orders, debit or credit cards only. The cashiers window is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

You may prefer to mail in your payment. Personal Checks are not accepted for payment. Only a cashier's check or money order will be accepted for payment by mail made payable to the City of Charleston. Be sure to include your ticket number and current address. A receipt will be mailed to you.

ONLINE CREDIT OR DEBIT cards are accepted at this web address.  Payment is accepted for City of Charleston fines only.  Please include the ticket number and the defendant's name on the payment entry screen.  For criminal violations or bench warrants, please contact the court prior to making an online payment.
