The City has various policies in place that prohibit discrimination including harassment on the basis of any protected status, such as:

  • Age
  • Color
  • Disability
  • National Origin
  • or Any Other Characteristic Protected by Federal
  • Political Affiliation
  • Race
  • Religion
  • Sex
  • State
  • Veteran Status and Local Laws

Comfortable Environment

The City also strives to create and preserve an environment free from discomfort or pressure relating to any personal characteristic such as personal appearance or sexual orientation. Sexual orientation means a person's real or perceived heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, or gender identity and expression.

In furtherance of its commitment to tolerance and fair treatment to all, the City has established an LGBT liaison.
