Monday, October 5, 2020 - Friday, October 23, 2020

What Will I Need to Do?

  •  Non-Smoker Affidavit - No need to update unless there is a change (Only for 2021)
  • Coverage Changes - Make any desired changes for 2021 / add or drop a dependent / waive coverage
  • New Elections - Enroll in / increase additional coverage you do not currently have (ex. add $20,000 to additional life)
  •  H.S.A Contributions - Must enroll annually
  •  Medical FSA / Dependent Day Care FSA - Must enroll annually and re-enrollment required to carry over $

How to Enroll?

  •  Passive Enrollment - Your 2020 selections will automatically continue for 2021 unless you cancel or make a change
  •  Online Self - Service Enrollment at
  •  Smartphone App - Search for the Benefitfocus "Benefitplace" App and use code: charlestonsc
  •  Unum and Aflac - Or general enrollment assistance call: 855-791-3096, 8:30a-8:00p Mon-Fri

Login information for Benefitfocus "Benefitplace" App & HR InTouch:

  • Username: TonyC6789 (full first name, first letter of last name, last four of SSN)
  • Password: Full SSN (no dashes)    *Company ID: charlestonsc

South Carolina Retirement System:
Class II Employees - Hired Before July 1, 2012
Class III Employees - Hired After July 1, 2012

Police Officers Retirement System:
Class II Employees - Hired Before July 1, 2012
Class III Employees - Hired After July 1, 2012

*Please note that 2020 1095-C reports will be available in the HR InTouch System.  They will not be mailed.  Additional information will be sent when the forms are ready.  Please contact HR if you need further information.


If you plan to add a dependent, such as your spouse or dependent child, you must bring the following documents to HR:
Spouse: Copy of Social Security Card
Copy of Marriage License

Children: Copy of Social Security Card
Copy of long form Birth Certificate
**If these documents are not provided by the end of Open Enrollment, you may risk your dependent being removed from the plan.
