A lot has happened since the project began in mid-January! See below for updates:
February 26, 2020 Update:
Front 9 Update:
Plagued by rain for much of the month, Charleston County continues work on retention pond additions to holes 2-4. One pond is completed, and culverts have been added to extend #2 fairway to the left. The fairway pond on #2 will continue for another 1-2 weeks, weather pending.
Much of the dirt from these ponds will remain on site until the construction crews begin work on the front 9 while some has been unloaded on the driving range where new drainage has been added and dirt is ready to be moved and shaped into target greens.
Tree clearing is nearly complete along the front 9, and crews are in the process of cleaning downed trees and debris.
Back 9 Update:
Hole #10 green complex is nearly complete with green and bunkers shaped and drainage added. Fairways, tees, and bunker additions are marked. Crews are in the process of digging bunkers and prepping tee areas
Green complexes are also underway on holes 12, 16, and 17.
Hole 15 pond is nearly completed and slopes graded. Dirt has been relocated to backfill 15 and part of 16 fairways.
Trees have mostly been removed between holes 12-14, and crews are in the process of clearing debris to begin digging the new pond. Much of the dirt from this area will be relocated to 13 fairway as it will be raised significantly to avoid further flooding concerns.
February 7, 2020 Update
Front 9 Update:
On the Front 9, Charleston County began work on a project to expand the drainage ditch running through holes 2, 3, and 4. The majority of the dirt from this site is being relocated to the driving range to be shaped into target greens as a part of the overall renovation project.
Tree clearing is underway along the back of the driving range, making room for target greens and increased practice area. Various areas around the front 9 have also been addressed
