Planning Commission - Union Pier Informational Session
Thursday, April 6, 2023
The Planning Commission will receive a presentation of the urban design, height, and density aspects of the Union Pier Redevelopment Plan on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. This presentation was requested by the Planning Commission for information only. No actions will be taken by the Planning Commission during this meeting.
MEETING AGENDA:
1. Informational session and discussion with representatives from Lowe Enterprises, the South Carolina Ports Authority, and City Staff about the urban design, density and height components of the Union Pier redevelopment plan.
LOCATION:
This meeting will be held in the Gaillard Center Ballroom at 2 George Street.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting in person to offer questions and comments to Commissioners. Written comments must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at http://innovate.charleston-sc.gov/comments/ or delivered to the address listed below. Written comments will be provided to the board members 24 hours in advance of the meeting and will be acknowledged into the record and summarized.
FUTURE PRESENTATIONS REGARDING UNION PIER:
In addition to this presentation, the Planning Commission has also requested a future presentation regarding affordable housing aspects the Union Pier redevelopment plan. This upcoming meeting will take place later in Spring 2023, at a time and location to be determined. Official notice of this upcoming meeting will be posted soon. Each of these meetings are open to the public and will be livestreamed on the City of Charleston Public Meetings YouTube Channel.
