The City of Charleston, Shifa Clinic Hosting First Clinic at Hope Center on August 19

City of Charleston Hope Center and Shifa Clinic Community Health Fair

The city of Charleston and the Shifa Clinic will host the first community health fair at the new Hope Center, 529 Meeting Street, on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Free health screenings will be available, including blood pressure, lung cancer, colon cancer and registrations for free mammograms, among others. 

Covid-19 vaccines will be available to persons ages 6-months-old and older. 

Those who attend the health fair will have the option to meet with a prenatal health worker, as well as register their children for free health care and vaccines. Child development screenings will also be available for children up to 6-years-old. 

Stations will be set up for participants to sign up for monthly home grocery deliveries and to become a Shifa patient.

Health and hygiene kits will be available while supplies last. 

About the Shifa Clinic: The goal of the Shifa Clinic is to “provide compassionate and high-quality medical care to uninsured, indigent populations” and “support efforts towards reducing food insecurity,” according to their website.
