The city of Charleston will join the worldwide celebration “Open Data Day” on Friday, March 3, 2023 with a number of virtual programs highlighting the benefits of access to data.
Charleston’s Open Data Day will be held virtually from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and includes information sessions from city staff about business demographics in the city, as well as an assessment of the economic vitality of the King Street corridor, an analysis of the tree canopy in Charleston’s neighborhoods, a look at the city’s first comprehensive plan, a walk through of the city’s real-time-data published on the TIDEeye app and more.
Speakers will include Mayor John Tecklenburg, city of Charleston staff including Chief Innovation Officer Tracy McKee, GIS Director Robert Hauck, Director of Business and Neighborhood Services Meg Thompson and Human Affairs and Race Conciliation Manager Adrian Capers Swinton, among others.
