Aug. 15 City Council Meeting Relocated to City Hall

Due to an air conditioning issue in Founders Hall at Charles Towne Landing, next week’s City Council meeting has been relocated to City Hall (80 Broad Street).

The meeting will proceed as scheduled, with Ways and Means beginning at 4 p.m. and City Council immediately following at 5 p.m. As always, both meetings will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel.

City of Charleston Clerk of Council Jennifer Cook said, “While Charleston Towne Landing staff are working hard to address this unforeseen issue, city officials have been notified that the necessary repairs are not expected to be completed in time for Tuesday’s meeting. That’s why, with higher-than-normal temperatures forecast in our area through next week, this adjustment was necessary to ensure the comfort and safety of meeting attendees, Council members and city staff. We appreciate the swift notification and support from the staff at Charles Town Landing and look forward to hosting members of the public at City Hall next week.”
