At the West Ashley Revitalization Commission’s meeting last night, members unanimously endorsed the implementation of the West Ashley Master Plan submitted by Dover Kohl, the planning consultant hired by City Council earlier this year.
The plan is the largest, most comprehensive renewal and revitalization effort in the city’s history.
The draft report will now go before the city of Charleston Planning Commission for their consideration, followed by City Council’s review.
Mayor John Tecklenburg said, “Plan West Ashley will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the area’s economic growth and the revitalization of its streets, neighborhoods, and public spaces. Last night’s endorsement is a significant step forward as we continue working to enhance the quality of life for all of West Ashley’s residents.”
