The city of Charleston is currently accepting applications from high school and college students ages 15-22 for the 2018 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).
Accepted students will work 20 hours per week from June 4 to July 27 in various city departments including Recreation, Traffic and Transportation, and the Mayor’s Office for Children, Youth, and Families – Youth Volunteer Corps.
Mindy Sturm, Director of the Mayor’s Office for Children, Youth, and Families, said, “Each year, the city’s Summer Youth Employment Program offers youth in the Charleston area an opportunity to gain paid job experience and acquire workplace skills that will prepare them for success both educationally and professionally.”
