The City of Charleston Recreation Department has officially announced MW Tennis Academy and its CEO and co-founder Jeff Wilson as the new tennis instructional partner at the Charleston Tennis Center.
Their first day of service will be Tuesday, May 1, 2018, and a scheduled meet-and-greet with Jeff Wilson and Director of Tennis Instruction Jamey Tinkey will be held at the Charleston Tennis Center on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 4 p.m.
Founded in 2012 and currently located at Family Circle Cup on Daniel Island, MW Tennis Academy is a total tennis academy for all ages and levels of play. The Academy covers beginner to varsity-level high school training programs, summer camps, and tournament coaching, as well as adult lessons, leagues, and clinics.
City of Charleston Recreation Services Superintendent Stella Fruit said, “We are delighted to welcome Jeff Wilson and MW Tennis Academy to the Charleston Tennis Center. Our new Director of Tennis Instruction, Jamey Tinkey, is a West Ashley resident and has grown up playing on the city’s courts. This is a very exciting time for the programming at the Charleston Tennis Center.”
Wilson said, “MW is excited to partner with the city of Charleston and the Charleston Tennis Center and deliver quality tennis instruction and programming to members of the community. This is an incredible opportunity to serve the city of Charleston, and we are thrilled to have Jamey Tinkey on board.”
