The City of Charleston will host two Information Sessions for the 2019 AmeriCorps VISTA Site Selection Process to provide an overview of the AmeriCorps VISTA Program and review related regulations and site requirements. The 2019 application will also be released during these sessions.
Below are the dates, times and locations for the Information Sessions:
- Friday, December 14, 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the City of Charleston HR Training Room, 75 Calhoun Street, 3rd Floor. Parking is available in the Gaillard Center Garage.
- Thursday, December 20, 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the City of Charleston HR Training Room, 75 Calhoun Street, 3rd Floor. Parking is available in the Gaillard Center Garage.
Attendance at one of the sessions is a mandatory element of the application process.
AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs. Members commit their time to address critical community needs like increasing academic achievement, mentoring youth, fighting poverty, sustaining national parks, preparing for disasters, and more. AmeriCorps VISTA is specifically focused on projects that alleviate poverty and is funded through the Corporation for National and Community Service.
