Those interested in attending must register for event tickets in advance at https://www.navyleaguecharleston.org/uss-charleston-invitation.

The commissioning ceremony for Charleston’s sixth namesake ship – an Independence-class littoral combat ship – will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Columbus Street Terminal, located at 30 Johnson Street.

While free to attend, individual registration is required for each ticket desired and will remain open through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019.

Mayor John Tecklenburg said, “The commissioning of this ship is a great honor for our city. Tomorrow is the last day to register to be a part of this historic event, and I encourage everyone who is interested to register now.”
