Lieutenant Katrina Rivers
has been with the Charleston Police Department for 21 years.
Education
She completed an internship with the City of Charleston Police Department in the summer of 1995 and received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from The University of South Carolina with a minor in Sociology and Social Work in December 1995. In 1996, she completed training to become a volunteer Reserve Officer with the City of Charleston.
Early Career
In February 1997, she joined the department as a sworn officer. During her tenure, Lieutenant Rivers has been assigned to various areas to include:
- Administration/Training Division
- Team 2 (supervisor/Corporal - Downtown)
- Team 3 (Sergeant - James and Johns Island)
- Team 4 (West Ashley)
- Team 5 Commander (Lieutenant - Daniel Island)
- Vice Unit
Currently
She is currently assigned as the midnight shift Command Duty Officer.
Training
During her 21 years, Lieutenant Rivers has received various training to include becoming a certified instructor, various specific skills training, and management/leadership training.
