You may apply for a residential parking decal by one of the following methods: online, by mail or in person.
Homeowner: $15.00 per vehicle
Renter: $10.00 per vehicle
Homeowner: valid 1/1/21 through 12/31/21
Renter: valid for 6 months: 1/1/21-6/30/21 or 7/1/21 t0 12/31/21
Each residential unit within a parking district is allowed a maximum of two decals that may be issued to residents of that particular unit.
Property tax receipt, deed or mortgage document for property
A valid lease agreement of at least 6 months duration
A valid driver’s license
Only one of the following: 1) valid SC vehicle registration(s) (or proof of payment of Charleston County vehicle registration fee) or 2) a valid active student identification card and vehicle registration(s) or 3) a valid active military ID card/orders and vehicle registration(s).
PLEASE NOTE: All unpaid parking citations must be paid in full, before a new residential parking permit will be issued. You may search for unpaid citations online at https://charlestonsc.t2hosted.com/Account/Portal. For any questions regarding the Residential Parking Permit Program, please call 843-724-7375.
Once your application is approved, you will receive an email to allow you to pay for your decal(s) online. Once payment is received your decal(s) will be sent through the mail.
Option 2 - Mail
Application, copies of the required documentation (vehicle registration plus proof of residency) and payment of $15.00 (per decal) for homeowner or $10.00 (per decal) for renter (check or money order only) can be mailed to the City.
