About the Program
The Urban Forestry Division operates an innovative street tree program that allows individual citizens, developers, and concerned community groups to contribute to the expansion of the city's urban forest.
Through this program, the city has increased the number of healthy trees in parks and rights of way by up to 500 trees per year. Participants make a contribution to the program to cover the cost that the Department of Parks incurs in purchasing the tree, planting the tree, and watering the tree for the first year to get it established . The city is also responsible for ongoing maintenance of the tree throughout its lifespan.
