Residential Parking Program

About the Program

In 1975, the city established its first residential parking permit district to ensure sufficient parking to residents of the district. This also protected residents from unreasonable burden in gaining access to their homes by minimizing the number of nonresidential and commercial vehicles parking in the neighborhood. Since that time, the number of parking districts has grown to ten and encompasses much of the downtown area with over 8,000 parking permits being issued annually.
