Support Tough Crime Legislation

Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr, Police Chief Greg Mullen and Scarlett Wilson, Ninth Circuit Solicitor, have announced the continuation of an initiative set in motion in 2006. Mayor Riley began working with the SC Legislature to further crime bills which he believed would directly affect the crime rate.

"These are two of the bills that will be presented to the South Carolina Legislature for the 2013 to 2014 sessions. The Charleston Police Department has had success getting legislation passed that helped in the fight against crime and these new bills are a part of the department's continuing efforts to make the community safer."
