Police Investigating a Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Collision near Charles Towne Landing

The Charleston Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle that occurred on April 25, 2025, just before 2 p.m. near the entrance to Charles Towne Landing. 

An Isuzu box truck was turning into Charles Towne Landing from Old Towne Road and struck an adult pedestrian attempting to cross the roadway. The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and is cooperating with investigators.

The pedestrian died at the scene. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased. Access to the park through the main entrance was limited for approximately 2 hours.   

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Charleston Police Department Traffic Unit at (843) 965-4084. 

This incident marks the fifth fatal traffic-related collision investigated by the Charleston Police Department this year.
