The Charleston Police Department has arrested three additional suspects related to an assault on King Street that occurred in March.
On March 23, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers received a report of an assault involving a group of teenagers near the intersection of King Street and Calhoun Street. According to the report, the group initially assaulted one individual. When a bystander tried to intervene, members of the group spat on his girlfriend. After the bystander confronted them about it, several suspects punched and kicked him. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Nearby officers arrested one suspect after a brief foot pursuit. Luke Chafin (19, of Hanahan) is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, two counts of assault and battery 3rd degree, possession of a fake ID, and minor in possession of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, three additional suspects have been charged.
- Aiden Roberts (18, of North Charleston) is charged with assault and battery 2nd degree.
- JUVENILE (17, of Summerville) is charged with assault and battery 2nd degree and assault and battery 3rd degree.
- JUVENILE (15, of Summerville) is charged with two counts of assault and battery 3rd degree.
