Police Investigating a Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Collision on Ashley River Road

The Charleston Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle that occurred on November 1, 2025, around 7:00 p.m. on Ashley River Road. 

A Dodge Charger was traveling northbound on Ashley River Road near Wallace School Road and struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the roadway. The pedestrian was transported by EMS and died at a local hospital. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased. 

The driver of the Dodge Charger stopped immediately and was uninjured.

Ashley River Road was closed to traffic for several hours while investigators were on scene.

This collision remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Charleston Police Department Traffic Unit at (843) 965-4084. Tips can also be submitted anonymously at www.charleston-sc.gov/tips

This incident marks the ninth fatal traffic-related collision investigated by the Charleston Police Department this year.
