The City of Charleston invites residents and visitors to help ring in the holiday season at this year’s Light the Lake celebration and tree lighting at Colonial Lake.
WHAT: A festive evening featuring the official Colonial Lake tree lighting, a countdown led by Mayor Cogswell, and glowing luminaries surrounding the lake. Attendees can enjoy live entertainment on the main stage, including Shortwave Kitsch performing “Letters to Santa” and a special Gullah rendition of ’Twas the Night Before Christmas by Fouché Sheppard. Families will also find a dedicated children’s area with activities such as a scavenger hunt, candy cane hunt, and snowball fight zone, along with photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
