Residential Category 2
Residential Category 2 corresponds to areas of the peninsula outside of the Short Term Rental Overlay and the Old and Historic District. In addition to meeting the general requirements for a short term rental permit, units in Category 2 must meet the following requirements:
- Property shall not contain more than 1 Short Term Rental unit
- PARKING: Property shall provide 1 off-street parking space in addition to providing, on the subject property, required off-street parking for existing uses on the property. The Zoning Ordinance requires 2 off-street parking spaces per dwelling unit. For example, a single-family dwelling unit with an STR unit requires 3 off-street parking spaces. The STR parking space may be situated in tandem with the required spaces for other uses on the property. Standard parking space size shall be 9′ × 18′6″.
- The Short Term Rental unit shall be located in a building constructed 50 or more years ago.
