Phase 1 of the Huger Street and King Street Intersection Drainage Improvements are in preparation for the future pump station that will be installed during Phase 2. The project will be upsizing the stormwater drainage systems in the intersection of King Street and Huger Street to increase the flow capacity of water moving to the future pump station. Work on Phase 1 began in June 2021 and construction is anticipated to last for four to five months. The work conducted in Phase 1 is just one step of the process to improving stormwater flow at the intersection of Huger Street and King Street. Citizens should anticipate intersection/road lane closures, adjusted traffic patterns, and night work to be performed on King Street during Phase 1.
This work is partially funded by the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority Grant.
