Trashformers Sculpture Contest

Keep Charleston Beautiful's Youth Ambassador, Elodie Cutler, has launched a sculpture contest for this year's youth engagement campaign.
The sculpture contest is called TRASHFORMERS, and challenges students to work together, collecting littered items and transforming them into a 3D sculpture that tells a message.  Sculptures need to follow the theme "Coastal Critters", emphasizing the negative impacts of man-made litter on our local marine environment and the species that call these ecosystems home. It is hoped that this project will inspire environmental awareness through creative action. Students are encouraged to register through their school clubs.

School clubs will be responsible for collecting litter around their schools, neighborhoods, and local parks/marshes. Litter should be cleaned before utilizing it in the sculpture. All participating groups will receive a 2ft by 2ft wooden platform, which will act as the base for their sculpture. Keep Charleston Beautiful will also provide a "starter kit" of supplies that may be useful for construction of the sculpture.
